Product information

SCHWEGO Inhibitor 6817 is a corrosion protection additive designed to convert residual rust on steel into a stable, non-corroding iron-organic complex. It compensates for inadequate substrate preparation and challenging painting conditions, such as manual derusting, damp surfaces, and traces of grease. This additive ensures effective penetration and adhesion, providing long-term corrosion protection.

Typical Applications:

  • Used undiluted as a pre-treatment for residual rust on iron and steel surfaces.
  • Ideal for restoring steel parts in industrial sectors, machinery, vehicles, and chemical plant components.
  • Functions as a rust-converting additive in water-based coating systems, suitable for anticorrosive primers and maintenance finishes.

User Guideline:

  • Apply undiluted on pre-treated surfaces using a brush or roller.
  • Optimal dosage in coatings is 3.0 – 5.0% based on the system.
  • Ensure correct application to avoid discoloration and adjust siccatives for drying time.

Storage/RRD:

  • Store above 0 °C in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Stir before use and keep the original container closed.
  • Stable for at least 12 months under proper storage conditions.

Packaging:
Available in 50 kg and 175 kg drums.
