Traditional hydrotropes, such as sodium cumene sulphonate usually act only as solubilizers. Thanks to their chemical structure, hydrotropic surfactants offer in addition to their excellent solubilizing properties the following benefits:

  • Decreasing of surface tension, especially in alkaline solutions, with good wetting of surfaces to be cleaned.
  • Ability to form micelles, improving both soil removal and soil dispersing capability in the cleaning liquid.
  • Lower amount needed for clearing-up of cleaner formulations.
